Drawing Tools

About This Product

Laying out and annotating a drawing is repetitive work: nudging views into alignment, distributing them evenly, fixing up view labels, renumbering details and sections, and tidying dimensions. Drawing Tools is an Autodesk Inventor add-in that collects those chores into one-click commands so a clean, consistent drawing comes together in a fraction of the time. The add-in works on the active drawing document and groups its commands into panels on the Bas Automation tab. The Alignment panel aligns selected views or their labels horizontally and vertically and distributes them evenly — either within the current sheet or across every sheet in the drawing. The View Labels panel copies label formatting between views, auto-assigns Top/Iso/Front/Side label templates to four selected views based on their positions, renumbers detail and section views sequentially across all sheets, and appends note lines to selected labels. The Dimensions panel toggles reference (parentheses) formatting, adds overall horizontal and vertical dimensions for selected views, centers dimension text, auto-arranges dimensions, and applies your own configurable prefixes and suffixes from a split-button menu. The View Placement panel includes a View Placer that browses an assembly and places its referenced parts on sheets, plus a rescale command that changes view scale while keeping balloon and dimension positions intact. When the drawing is ready, the Export panel sends the active document to PDF, DWG, or DXF in a single click. All behavior is driven by a settings file you can edit and reload, so alignment, labeling, dimension affixes, section-letter series, and export paths follow your standards.
